- About Perry Behavioral Health
A Place For Middle and High Schoolers in Crisis, To Thrive & Grow
Perry Behavioral Health treats adolescents in middle school and high school who are experiencing a mental health crisis, often for the first time. You don’t need to have exhausted every option to bring your child here. We’re built for the moment when regular counseling isn’t enough, before things escalate further.
- Many of the teens we work with:
- Are showing signs of an identity crisis, mood instability, or suicidality
- Have experienced disruption at home or school
- Have a pre-diagnosed or undiagnosed mood disorder
- Have tried standard outpatient counseling, not intensive treatment
- What We Treat
A Program Built Around Learning & Moving Forward, Not Standing Still
Primary mental health conditions, including mood disorders, identity crisis, and suicidality
Co-occurring substance use is treated as a symptom of underlying mental health needs, not a separate, standalone issue
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) support when clinically appropriate
Reaching out to a trusted healthcare professional is an important first step toward getting help.
We don’t draw a hard line between mental health and substance use. Many of the teens we treat are in the early stages of experimentation, using substances to cope with something deeper. Our approach addresses the root cause, not just the behavior.
- How We Treat
Real Conversations, Not Worksheets
Our clinical model is built on process-based group therapy – a deeper, more dynamic approach than standard psychoeducation. Groups are organized so conversations stay relevant and age-appropriate.
Groups are also separated by gender and by grade level (middle school vs. high school), so every conversation is developmentally appropriate, and every teen has room to speak honestly.

A Day at Perry Behavioral Health
Weekdays
- Morning: Breakfast, followed by a community group to set the tone for the day
- Late Morning: Gender-specific group therapy (separate boys’ and girls’ groups)
- Midday: Online schooling, so academics stay on track
- Afternoon: Grade-level group therapy (middle school and high school separated)
- Evening: Dinner, followed by downtime — art therapy, clubs, and activities based on what your teen actually enjoys
Weekends
Weekends stay structured, with outings to nearby parks and community activities — a rhythm that feels more like normal life than a treatment facility.
- We Don't Treat in Isolation. We Treat Families.
Family Is Part of the Program, Not Spectators
Perry Behavioral Health was built on the belief that healing a teenager means healing the family system around them. That’s why family involvement isn’t optional here. Parents and guardians stay at a nearby partner hotel during family weekends, making it easier to be fully present without the added stress of travel logistics. This isn’t a place where you drop off your child and step back. It’s a place where your whole family does the work together.

An Honest Alternative
We know the reputation some adolescent programs carry — isolating kids from their families, keeping them away for long stretches with little transparency. That’s not what we do. Perry Behavioral Health is built on openness: with your child, and with you. We show you the real process, not a polished version, because trust is what makes treatment work.
